A 94-member Odisha squad finished overall third with a haul of 51 medals and 332 points in the 25th East Zone Junior Athletics Championship, which concluded at Birsa Munda Stadium in Ranchi today. The medals included 10 gold, 23 silver and 18 bronze.
West Bengal emerged overall champions with 714 points, while host Jharkhand finished second with 529 points. Odisha boys emerged under-14 group champions with 30 points.
Odisha’s 10 gold medalists were Damayanti Murmu, Suman Jena, Karmi Singh, Punga Soren, Rajeswari Bhoi, Rajat Kumar, Salmi Kispotta, Sumi Oram, boys-16 medley and boys-20 4x110m relay teams.
